A three-page AARO witness-debrief memorandum brings a striking triangular-object account into the public record. Federal law-enforcement agents described a dark, smooth shape rising above a ridgeline, pausing in a hover and then banking down into a canyon. The precise date and location are redacted in the released copy.
The memo divides the observation into three phases: an ascent lasting roughly ten seconds, about twenty seconds of hovering, and a rapid departure lasting around two to three seconds. The agents reported no accompanying sound. They described viewing the object with binoculars and a handheld thermal monocular. Their comparison with fighter-jet speed was an estimate; the record states that no instrumented speed measurement was obtained.
The closing sequence matters to the story: the account describes the object passing behind terrain and into canyon shadows. A search the following morning reportedly found no wreckage or ground disturbance. Read the released AARO memorandum (archive copy).
