A small Trento experiment tested dream-oriented VR alongside diaries, reality checks and meditation. Its experimental group reported more lucid-like dreams than the comparison groups.

Method

Thirty-eight participants followed a five-week programme across three groups. Fully lucid and semi-lucid reports were recorded separately.

What to keep in mind

Meditation and dream-oriented VR were combined, so their individual effects cannot be isolated. Outcomes depended on self-reports and a small sample.
