Frontiers in psychology · Exploratory mixed-methods survey
A Chinese online survey examined common near-death-experience features alongside culturally specific imagery. Accounts combined recurring themes with occasional references to Chinese religious and afterlife traditions.
Method and scope
Quantitative analysis covered 63 participants, with thematic analysis of 48 narratives collected through social-media recruitment.
What to keep in mind
Medical circumstances were not independently verified. Retrospective reports and a convenience sample make the findings exploratory rather than population estimates.
