Cortex · Controlled environment experiment
Researchers varied infrasound and electromagnetic conditions in a purpose-built room. Many participants reported unusual sensations, but their frequency did not track the experimental condition.
Method
Seventy-nine participants spent 50 minutes in the chamber, receiving either, both or neither exposure and recording their experiences.
What to keep in mind
Participants were told unusual sensations might occur. A simulated room cannot stand in for every reported haunting; the authors considered suggestibility in explaining these results.
