Neuroscience of consciousness · Ganzfeld perception study

A homogeneous visual field can produce imagery and changes in perceived brightness. This study clarifies several kinds of visual fading and combines participants’ descriptions with quantitative observations.

Method and scope

Researchers built an immersive Ganzfeld space and examined the timing and character of perceptual changes, including eye movements and blinks.

What to keep in mind

These are experimentally induced perceptual effects. Ganzfeld perception research should be distinguished from experiments that add an ESP target-transfer task.
