A passenger’s account of unusual lights over Utah reached Coast to Coast AM’s news coverage on 2 November. Following its link back to the National UFO Reporting Center reveals a more useful record than the striking triangle headline alone: the witness described two different observations, and was explicit about what they could not measure.
Lights first, then a darker shape
NUFORC record 201859 places the incident on 18 October, at approximately 9:05pm Las Vegas local time. The passenger said the aircraft was about half an hour from landing and described two bright white lights moving around a reddish light. They then noticed a dark, triangular-looking object with several small lights travelling in the opposite general direction to their flight.
The account lists two observers and a duration of five to ten minutes. Those are details supplied in the report; they are not a second, separately documented witness interview. Its chronology is also clear: the sighting was submitted on 22 October, posted by NUFORC on 29 October and covered by the radio programme on 2 November.
The details worth keeping
Although the witness found the apparent movement startling, they said they could not estimate the object’s speed or distance. They also raised a conventional possibility themselves: a stealth bomber. A reported conversation with the pilot after landing appears in the account, but it is the passenger’s recollection, not a published statement from the airline or a radar investigation.
That distinction leaves an intriguing report without turning it into a measured high-speed encounter. A moving aircraft window gives a witness a particular viewpoint, but without a reliable distance there is no firm basis here for calculating the other object’s size or velocity.
UKPX has checked the written submission and the linked coverage. We have not independently authenticated or analysed the footage, obtained flight records or established an identification. Readers can follow the original entry below rather than rely on the headline’s description.
